Permission to Rest
An online yoga nidra course.
Come gather every Sunday evening in January for an hour of deep rest.
I will invite you to get comfy in your home, either a bed, or chair or lying on the floor. We will then have a 45 minute yoga nidra practice.
Yoga nidra is a deep state of conscious awareness. Unlike meditation, we pass through the theta state to get to the delta state, which is the place of the deepest sleep cycle. The delta state is a deep healing state. In this state, the body and mind rest and the consciousness is awake.
Benefits of Yoga Nidra
Yoga nidra works with the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system regulates processes of the body that take place without a conscious effort (heartbeat, breathing, digestion and blood flow). This system also includes the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
Professor Andrew Huberman states that a yoga nidra practice as short as 10 minutes can have positive effects on energy levels and cognitive performance. Yoga Nidra can lead to improved sleep, improved cognition and mental health, and overall well-being.
Cost of Course
The cost of the course is £40 which includes all four live sessions via zoom, and access to the recording for three months. If you cannot make a session then you will still recieve the recording and can listen in your own time.
